Follow the Light

The Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to lead them on their way during the day and in a pillar of fire to give them light at night, so that they could travel by day or by night. The pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night never left its place in front of the people. (Exodus 13:21-22 CSB)

Jesus declared that He is the light of the world…and if we follow Him, we will never walk in darkness. (John 8:12 CSB)

By now many have heard that Melinda and I are transitioning to a new place of ministry and service. The first question almost always is…where are you going? With confidence I reply, “I am not sure where we are going, but wherever He leads, we will follow”.

Here is what we know…1. God is moving us to a new ministry and our last official day in the office at Brentwood Baptist is December 31. 2. Brentwood is taking good care of us while we search for our next place of service. 3. God is providing light for us to follow and if we follow Him we will never walk in darkness.

I have taught that faith is like driving to a destination at night. If you continue to drive through what you can see in the light provided by the headlights, you will eventually reach your destination. Simply, just follow the light before you. The children of Israel followed it, the shepherds followed it, the wise men followed it and now, Melinda and I are following it to our next place of service.

Here are a couple of simple requests to help us with our journey. Pray for us daily and if you hear of opportunities where might serve God’s people, don’t hesitate to reach out and let us know.

Joy for the journey!
