Let The Journey Begin!

Growing up in a small town in Alabama I did not dream big enough. I never saw myself serving one of America’s largest and fastest growing congregations or the world class talent that I would have the honor of serving with. I never dreamed God could use someone like me to lead a gifted team of Discipleship Ministers and serve as an architect of a comprehensive discipleship strategy that other congregations would seek to follow. I never imagined that I would one day write a blog that others would choose to read. Yet God expands our dreams and opportunities beyond our wildest imagination. He empowers us to do things we never thought we could do.

This blog is evidence of God’s work in my life. He is allowing me to speak into the lives of Christ-followers and church leaders. That thought alone drives me to my knees. Yet all I am is what God created and allows me to be. He has given me this platform to advance His kingdom and I seek His guidance for the journey ahead.

My desire in writing this blog is to journey with others to know the personality and deeds of Jesus Christ in such ways that they naturally flow out of me where I live work and play. When I look into the mirror each day I hope to see a little less of me and a little more of Him. That is my prayer for the readers of this blog also. In addition, I hope that it will be a platform to “equip and encourage people on their journey toward Christlikeness”. To that end I write my first post.

Enjoy the journey!

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. We all, with unveiled faces, are looking as in a mirror at the glory of the Lord and are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory; this is from the Lord who is the Spirit.
